Not being one to trust our government with my child's education, I supplement what they give him with some real American history about self discipline, self sacrifice, the "duty of civil disobedience" and a firm belief in GOD.
Would you believe that at Center School in the 50s we started our day by saying the Pledge of Allegiance and the Our Father? Yes, we set the tone for the day by thinking about something larger and more important than ourselves. What a concept!

Gee Cranky that is kinda cool. I guess having gone to Catholic school for 18 years just thought the Our Father was done on in Catholic schools. Just never thought about it as it was normal for us.
Yes if we do not have a firm belief in God or a higher power then I think we are all screwed. Personally would love to meet you. I went to Lourdes, Madigori and Fatima as I just believe that miracles happen. I have been to Lourdes 8 times and all in the dead of winter. Just had to go. Must have been that Song of Bernadette movie with Jennifer Jones I saw over and over again as a child. But it really makes my heart feel good. I can't explain it.
Regarding your first statement. Your are correct, but it just appears that slowly it is all being taken out of the schools especially the Public ones. The Pledge of Allegiance should never be taken out of schools, but being that they are public they can and eliminate the Our Father ever if it is still being said, which I doubt. God they want to take out in "GOD WE TRUST"..People just don't get it...I don't understand this moronic mentality. What do they think this all happened by accident..?

Hahahaha Cranky before I went down to the music I hit the movie thinking it was on there. Then I heard this kid saying the Our Father. Stopped said what this isn't it, don't like those movies.

Looks like Obama is on his way to further his goal in making this country Socialist....this is Democracy? I do not think so. I have nothing against Unions but just look throughout Western Europe and see what has happened there via their unions, health care and see if that is what you as Americans want for this nation. Most companies have been broken by unions. Most companies outsource their businesses and laid off unions and hired companies to do the job in place of their employee's due the the escalating costs of the old union worker. They could not maintain a profit due to the wages, benefits of what the unions demanded. Just in Aviation, a baggage handler making $27.00 an hr. come on. I realize they had put the time in to make that money, but he also is not given any other option in the union to trade up if he so wishes due to union rules. So in the end the $27.00 and hour guy has been replaced by a $8.00 an hour person. Makes sense to me. But I feel bad for the guy who got laid off, where was his UNION? NO WHERE! The Union could not save the guys job. Many companies have been successful without unions. Why do we have to have everyone unionized because that is what he will be doing.
Again there is a place for them to a point as there is bad management we have seen that with the AIG's, Fannie and Freddie Mac's of the world. But that is not the same as a company that has both management and union in it. As I said before just look at all the companies that where and still are unionized and see what has happened to them. They are either gone or they are on the heels of bankruptcy. Quite the contrary of what comes out of the Union Leaders slick mouths when trying to break into a company. They lie. We cannot let that happen. My brother, a fireman-unionized the other brother a police officer - unionized and my sister head clerk Supreme Court in NY - non unionized, me never in the union but dealt with their shannigans for 40 years. If you ask the firemen and policemen in New York most will say the union is a joke. It protects the lazy people that is what it does.....and the Union Reps ride off into the sunset, set for life with all their members monies..They make deals with management just like management makes deal with management. Only difference is you pay to get screwed when you are in a union....

I just received a call from Ted and he welcomes any calls or questions you may have. As per Cranky's post #23 that is his home number.
The Time is between 11-2PM @ 25 Captiol Street, Concord, N.H. 03301..on April 15th. Right in front of the State House. You can make your own signs or do whatever you choose, there is no set forum. Put down whatever you feel on your sign to let all those in Concord know your upsetment with how things are being run in this country..
I still am so upset, not shocked that most of them (probably all) never read that Stimulus package. Stimulus my foot they want their Pork and Bigger Government. We do not want that as a Nation. Hope that many of you can make it..

Is our country heading towards the building a Dictatorship? Seems that way. Below are the top ten dictators in the world. Although these dictators have different ways they choose to use their dictatorship, most have the same thing in common. Taking the Power from the People. Are we being hoodwinked? Boy Cranky I cannot believe this, but I can. I know for a fact that the permits are in place for the one in Concord on April 15th. Who knows maybe they will try the same type of crap there too. Why would they do this in Cape Coral? I get it the clean up yadda yadda but that is just an excuse. I tell you I don't like what is going on in this country and it frightens me. Loved Obama's speech the other night (not). It was so staged just like you would see in a communist country. All questions scrutinzed ahead of time, only certain people in the press where asked questions. All staged. He is an absolute joke. Does everyone buy his act? What does that tell you about freedom of the press.He wants to take it away. Next they will go after the Right Wing talk shows and bring back the Freedom Doctrine. He is a mad man there is no doubt in my mind and anyone who thinks otherwise needs to see a doctor..
I wonder where they will try to stop the next Tea Party? I passed this onto Ted as an FYI..thanks for passing it on to me..this is really upsetting..Soon we will be afraid to speak to our neighbors as we may be put on a list like in the McCarthy era...omg I hope not!!!!
