| #32 | Cranky:
Every point on this article is right on target. I suppose the key is how does one spread the word. I think these Tea Parties are helping but this is really great.
I will pass this on to all on my email lists. Do you know who wrote this? julia |

Cranky what a great article. It really makes one to stop and think. Are we all moral or not? It comes in all sizes and shapes this morality or immoral life we lead. Never expected to read what I did, yet it all makes sense.
Just speaking for myself I looked at morals as how I live my life, if I am good person or bad person. It all comes down to my Catholic beliefs. But in the article if you look at it all and accept things as suggested in the article are you a moral person? I never would have put morality in the context of government only when answering to God. Theft is theft regardless of how it is done. Yet stealing from the government is no different than the guy holding up a gas station. But again never would have looked at it that way as we are used to seeing the bad buy as the burglar and the government lol helping out people in distress. I know and have always felt that taking a handout is okay to a point but to make it a career as many have done, is out and out theft. Yet it is encouraged by the government. The stats show it, I don't know what to think other than morally, I have worked hard my whole life, and never took any monies from the government, but am I still a moral person overall? I think I am, but am I? This brings up much for a person to site back and ponder upon.
Yup the government wants the control and it is so clear to me that that is the way this country is heading. This article was absolutely brilliant.
Thanks once again for such a great article. You always have the good ones. Maybe I had better get to confession..lol tks really, julia

| #34 | The Williams article articulates a simple truth that many are unable to grasp yet one which originates at the core of our being and of our Constitution. We as a nation are beginning to notice the ongoing theft by, and our own status as slaves to, our government. As our forefathers did centuries ago, this rebellion is beginning not with only one, but with many tea parties. This tyrant is much worse because we are not separated geologically. This tyrant is active in our country, our state, our town, our computers, our cell phones, our credit cards, our medical records, everything and everywhere there's money to be made.
Another great thought on the redistribution of wealth proposes that if the act is not correct for an individual to do then it's not correct for the government to do. Simply put; if I see a homeless family and decide I want to help them, am I then correct in taking resources from my neighbors to give to the homeless family? That is nothing more than theft and at current level of taxation around the country it's "grand theft". |

Wow Cranky alot of food for thought. I am glad that I am partaking in the Tea Party in Concord, thanks to your info. Heard about them but got closer to the issue after your post. I was speaking to my husband about your Williams article and he read it and just shook his head and said this guy is right on target.
All this is kinda scary. But again I thank you for opening my eyes to look at another avenue as to how we view our govenment. I think that you are a true Patriot and I think I am too. This nonsense has got to stop, but I just don't see the average American thinking about it. They should be, maybe these Tea Parties that is if people pay attention will get them more involved with what is happening in the country.
Personally I am a news junkie as my husband and am just so upset at what is going on that it does scare me as it should everyone. But I don't see anyone taking a stand. Look just at what you wrote, no response other than by me. WHY? Is it just that people think it is a waste of time. We in Windham should unite as a community just as other communities to attempt to stop much of this stuff, but no one reacts. I don't understand why! Maybe they just dislike me for my past comments, but if I can seperate issues so should everyone else. We all have to be pro-active here. A perfect example to a point is how the Ledge Rd. deal went down. I am not attempting to bring it in for no other reason that it was about greed and people got hurt and no resolution. That is my only point. It can and is happening in many places not just in Windham. Greed and Theft Rule the World and the little people get hurt. People need to be made aware and participate whether something affects them or not. But in the situation going on in the US today it DOES affect everyone. Maybe you have a better answer than me..Thanks and take care of yourself....talk soon, regards, julia

| #36 | Food for thought....
Apparently, some never learn this lesson! An economics professor at Texas Tech said he had never failed a single student before but had, once, failed an entire class. That class had insisted that socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer. The professor then said ok, we will have an experiment in this class on socialism. All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A. After the first test the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. But, as the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too; so they studied little.. The second test average was a D! No one was happy. When the 3rd test rolled around the average was an F. The scores never increased as bickering, blame, name calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else. All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great; but when government takes all the reward away; no one will try or want to succeed. Could not be any simpler than that....

| #37 | That's classic. It also demonstrates the thought patterns of those with a public school education. That was a rare college professor who believes socialism doesn't work AND who took time to prove it to his students.
A similar tale goes on about the woman who graduated college with a 4.0 g.p.a. and a firm belief in liberal, progressive, socialist policies when she moved back home. Her father suggested that for the sake of fairness she should only have received a 3.0 g.p.a. so that some of her classmates could have lifted their 1.0 or 2.0 g.p.a. to something better. As she ranted about kids drinking and partying while she studied hard to get her grades her father just listened and smiled as he watched his daughter become a conservative republican right before his eyes.... |

INSIGHT"Legal plunder can be committed in an infinite number of ways; hence, there are an infinite number of plans for organizing it: tariffs, protection, bonuses, subsidies, incentives, the progressive income tax, free education, the right to employment, the right to profit, the right to wages, the right to relief, the right to the tools of production, interest free credit, etc., etc. And it the aggregate of all these plans, in respect to what they have in common, legal plunder, that goes under the name of socialism." --French economist, statesman and author Frederic Bastiat (1801-1850)
THE GIPPER"The difference between the path toward greater freedom or bigger government is the difference between success and failure; between opportunity and coercion; between faith in a glorious future and fear of mediocrity and despair; between respecting people as adults, each with a spark of greatness, and treating them as helpless children to be forever dependent; between a drab, materialistic world where Big Brother rules by promises to special interest groups, and a world of adventure where everyday people set their sights on impossible dreams, distant stars, and the Kingdom of God. We have the true message of hope for America." --Ronald Reagan |

WE NEED MEDICAL HELP ARE THERE THOUSANDS OF DOCTORS IN THE HOUSE? http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123879833094588163.html
I don't know and have to assume that most heard it at least on the Right Wing Cable networks. That if the banks did not take the monies from the TARP relief, they would be subject to an audit. I am sure the banks are afraid to say anything, at least the big ones. I did not hear this on any of the MSNBC's of the world unless I missed it.
What is wrong with this picture? If half of this is true, and if the banks eventually are owned by the government, which pretty much is the case now, then who will own our homes? THE GOVERNMENT? He has an agenda and it is not in our best interest. SOCIALISM IS FLOATING INTO OUR HOMES...................SO CLOSE YOUR WINDOWS AND START GET READY THERE IS A COUP A COMING...... ARE WE FOOLS YET?

| #42 | Muslim pirates are nothing new to America. Our initial response to them over 200 years ago was to create the U. S. Marine Corp to provide security and defense for maritime travelers in the Med. "From the Halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli" was inspired by this "birth" of the Marines. Pirating is nothing new. 200 years ago we showed them that messing with us wasn't good for their general health and well being. I guess they don't have those concerns anymore.
I found this on line earlier:
"The Muslims--not the Americans and Brits--were the original modern day slave drivers. This little fact was lost in history partially courtesy of Hollywood, who romanced the Errol Flynn genre of swashbucklers, making it seem legit for children to want to grow up sailing under the Skull & Bones. In fact, the history of the Barbary Coast is part of the indelible history of America’s courageous Marines, sent for the first time outside America to negate the heavy burden of paying out ransoms, in the Barbary War against Tunis, Algiers and Tripoli in 1801-05. And it was again piracy and hostage-taking that induced the Marines and U.S. Navy to return to the Mediterranean to fight a second war against Algiers in 1815. Now that four Somali terrorists have captured world attention in the Indian Ocean, there would be no better time than to fire back on them with the words that once mattered the most: “From the Halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli, we fight our country’s battles in the air, on land, and sea...” |

Cranky I did not know that or had forgotten my history regarding the formation of the Marines/U.S. Navy. I kind of feel ashamed actually. But I do know the song from WW2. Obviously too when you hear the bands playing at the 4th of July ceremonies in Washington for all branches of the military. Anyway I just do not get that we would not storm them like as in the olden days as this has got to stop. They are supporting the people that hate us to continue the war on Terror, and we nor anyone else is doing anything demonstrative. What are people waiting for?
Unfortuantely,I feel Captain Philips of the Maerk's shipline is in a very serious position regardless of what is done. I so pray for his family and hope the outcome is the best for his survival.
Good link, thanks, been listening to it on an off all day on the news getting ready for Easter tomorrow.
Talk later and have a really nice Easter..regards, the twit, alias Julia lol

| #45 | I received the following from a friend who I worked with at Pan American many years ago. Worth the read and what he says I too feel the same way. I have lived it with the unions both TWU and Teamsters. The unions had a purpose one time but as I said before they DO NOT save people's jobs in today's environment. Quite the contrary they lose them and the one paying the price is the Union Employee. Join the cause...take care
Folks; not sure how you all stand on this issue. I for one; having spent several years in the TWU at Pan Am, would never let the unions grab this kind of power. I have been at the raw end of their intimidation tactics from the union side and again from the management side. The union bosses are pushing Obama for their pay-back, which will take away workers' rights to decide in a private ballot whether a union is necessary in their workplace. It is designed to fill the ranks with union workers and of course they will all be paying DUES. The unions have long been known for corruption and intimidation (same as Chicago politics). Obama wanted their votes and got them. Now they want their piece of the social pie. With the passage of this bill, shop stewards will be able to see how each employee voted.........and you can guess the rest. Why should anyone know how each individual votes.................what is the harm in keeping the ballots private? Would dwindling union memberships have anything to do with that? I have signed this petition (Newt Gingrich is spearheading "American Solutions"). You can get at it via the link below (FreedomNotFear)............................. Pete
http://www.AmericanSolutions.com Dear Peter, You may have heard the other day that Senator Arlen Specter announced he will be voting against Card Check. However, he made clear that he's open to some future compromise, and that he might feel different if the economy weren't so bad. The fight to defeat Card Check is far from over. Some organized labor groups already announced plans for a TV ad campaign pressuring Sen. Specter to flip back to their side. They have hundreds of millions of dollars to spend on misleading TV ads. We don't. But, along with you, we do have over 170,000 Americans that care about protecting American jobs and American democratic values. We need to have a strong citizen action network ready to defeat this dangerous bill for good. Please take a moment to recruit 5 friends to sign the Freedom Not Fear petition at http://www.AmericanSolutions.com/FreedomNotFear. Thanks so much. Sincerely, |
