| #1 | The Baseball League is proposing to install lighting at the Griffin Park Ballfields. Do you think that maybe they should pay off the Concession Stand before starting another project? Could it be because when they pay off the Concession Stand, a portion of the profit goes to the Recreation Revolving Fund, and now they get 100% of the profit. Who will pay for the Electricity for the lights? I've seen the scoreboards lit overnight and we are paying that bill. Our Maintenance Department is providing maintenance services to the Concession Stand that the Town does not own. |

| #2 | More of this absurd taxpayer funded recreation for the "ball" people when we can least afford it. Let those who play be the ones who pay and stop expecting your friends and neighbors to pay for your recreation. |

| #3 | Might as well change the name of the town to baseballville or more appropriately McMahonville.
Nothing like ruining a nice park for taking a telescope to do some star gazing. Oh wait, I can't do that anymore since the park is closed after sunset. Bet that rule will be changed mighty quick when the lights go in. Baseball/Softball always gets their way.
Let's see, parking sucks at the park during the day what with all of the over flow in the roads and all when games are going on. It will be more fun dodging kids, cars and parents in the dark on Range Road with night time games.
To quote SamIam, "its for the kids" so I should be glad for the lights and having my taxes pay for the electricity.
Let us see how the selectman vote on this one next Monday. See if any of them care about any of the other residents beside the almighty baseball/softball clique. |

| #4 | No night games until the parking issue is resolved!!
It's tough enough to see adults and kids crossing the road when they are exiting the park between cars double parked on roadside grass in the daylight never mind at night.
How hard is it to take part of the grass on one side and extend the parking lot in an "L" shape.
What wrong with our selectman? They move heaven & earth for the "safety of the children" with regards to London Bridge Rd, but sit with their thumbs stuck up their rear ends on the parking issue at Griffin Park.
Hello Galen, Bruce, Rodger, Ross & Charlie care to comment? |

| #5 | How about putting street lights along the walking path? Something subdued, perhaps to look like gas lights. That would serve a wider age range than lights for the fields. On another note: isn't Griffin Park supposed to close at sunset, by regulation? Then why put in lights at all. |

| #7 | "why do we need lights?" We the general public don't need taxpayer funded lights anywhere. We provide light for ourselves if and when we need to. Perhaps a more reasonable response to those who want our parks and trails lit up at night would be to suggest that they relocate to a place where those facilities already exist.

They want to put up lights yet Tom painted the Flagpoles at the Firehouse for free. I know people think he had an agenda, maybe he did, but regardless he did it..What's wrong with this picture? Interesting! I don't want to pay for it, I have paid enough just as my neighbors for bad decisions and I am not paying for anything else. Are you guys on the PB-BOS or the Town Manager the list bit embarrassed? Seems your not as you still don't stop.
If those guys vote it in, thn they can pay for the lights out of their own pockets. Aren't they supposed to be watching our monies. The country is going to Pot (not the smoking kind, although with some of the things gone done in town you would think some of them were stoned when they made their decisions) and here we are thinking about lights...We have so many things to pay for as shown by our taxes and they want more, what the hell do they think we are all made out of money? Not being cheap about it, but seems totally wrong to me.
Again I have paid dearly for what they did to us on Ledge Rd., for starters, why don't they put in the budget all the people who had to get filtration systems in their houses, and still could not drink the water. I know I know..it was Meadowcroft, but you all approved it, and at best it was done halfaxxxd the entire deal, all are to blame not just Meadowcroft. And that is putting it mildly.
Why don't you just hang lights everwhere throughout the town in the trees on all the building just freaking everywhere, it would then look like the scene's in "IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE"..I doubt though that Clarence the angel who was working on getting his wings would be showing up anytime to help out in this situation like he did for the Bailey's. For once can you please just stop this freaking nonsense and get the town back on track!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is what you were elected to do..end rant...again!

Word has it that the Baseball League did not approve the Griffin Park Lighting wednesday night, and are miffed that Charlie McMahon jumped the gun. |

Isn't this somewhat the same story with 'secondary HS access'? |

And his asking to build a bandstand at Griffth Park that looked like something out of Disneyland, like Cinderella's top of her castle bests describes it...I suppose his feminie side was coming out when he had someone design it..tutu's anyone..And let's not forget it was all to be funded by donations for a measly $300 grand. Yet let's not give money/manpower for painting flagpoles and other buildings in town that may need it just to keep the town spruced up... |

The fundamental question is who does the park belong to? Charlie, who certainly gives the impression that it is his .... watch the selectmen's meetings if you think otherwise, the baseball league or the town's people as a whole. If it does belong to the us then we should decide on the lights, in March, with the ballot. |

| #14 | If I am not mistaken, weren't baseball lights part of the original design? If so, don't expect a town vote on the issue.
Nonetheless, it is irresponsible to have that park open after sunset, given the horrendous parking situation.
But truth be told, Charlie did try to have additional parking added (at little or no cost to the town), but the Cobbetts Pond Gestapo got in the way. |

Like with every other "McProject", one needs to assess what Charlie has to gain personally. |
