| #61 | I believe it should go on the warrant in March. If the town votes for lights than so be it. Otherwise no lights! That is exactly why you won't see it on the ballot Old Yankee - the town won't vote for it meaning no lights..Instead they will circumvent the voters to get lights and we will pay the tab anywho...
Why have lights if GP hours are dawn to dusk...you need to change that policy before you add lights ? don't you...

| #62 | I 100% agree that it is wrong to let something this important slide through on a quickie hearing Monday night. There is no reason to rush such a decision, and any selectman that votes to allow this to proceed without ample opportunity for the town residents to review, understand, and comment on it is clearly not working on behalf of the people that elected him.

Now that the new tax bills are here with the certainty that next year the bill will go up again, how many residents think we need to keep spending money on things we don't need like more and better recreational facilities?
I still want that fully enclosed and heated Olympic size pool. At least it's something every tax payer can use 365 days a year unlike all these "ball" fields and the accessories that go with them.

| #66 | It looks like Charlie McMahon got his wings clipped again. Maybe one of these days he will realize that he is a political dinosaur. The "old-style" school of ramming things down voters throats is over, yet he doesn't get it. This is the new paradigm! |

Are these guys for real ? Where does WBSL get $130K plus to donate for lights if they are a non-profit organization ? Maybe consider putting that money to good use like lowering sign-up costs to parents, buying equipment for the kids, skills clinics, and training. Parents register their kids to play and learn the game of baseball/softball - not to build Griffin Park and its accessories.

I was actually thinking the same thing Sam. Anyone out there experienced with the way a 501(c)(3) works? It looks like it is a common practice for organizations like this to invest "leftovers" and grow their money. That is a lot of money to have stashed away. |

| #70 | Teeball is a cash cow. 180 kids x $70 = $12,600 That's easy baby-sitting money and puts about $10K in the "bank".
I don't understand lights off at 9pm. 6pm games end around 8pm or so now anyways. Sometimes games are cut short by an inning because of darkness. So we are doing all of this so a handful of games can play that missed 6th inning? What am I missing? |

Your missing "Charlie wants it"
Wish he would put the same effort into solving the parking problem.
By solving the parking problem, I don't mean giving up the towns water rights or allowing clustered housing behind the town hall in exchange for a parking lot across the street from Griffin park. |

| #72 | You people amaze me with your P & M about everything this guy does. While he is often a pain in the axx, he does work on a lot of stuff, a lot of which I do not agree with, but that is beside the point. Sam, if you do not like what he is doing, step up. Also, you all are forgetting that he has the approval of his baseball board, so how is it just him? |

You put your right finger on the most expensive group of special interests in Windum - the baseball board. Of course there's probably a soccer board and a football board too. Charlie and his friends seem to think the town owes them all this fun stuff. |
